De Kleine Wijn Koöp is project by winemaker Wynand Grobler and his wife, Anya. The Groblers regard the ‘cooperative’ as a two-person family business and run it from a small cellar in the heart of Paarl. Wynand doesn’t care much for corporate structures or large cellar teams, his main goal is to be personally involved in the winemaking process. He produces only small quantities of wine from vineyards in Stellenbosch, Swartland, Walker Bay, Franschhoek, Piekenierskloof and Agter-Paarl. As mysterious as the Black Cat. As nomadic as David Kramer’s combi. As heroic as Wolraad Woltemade’s horse. With tiny volumes, De Kleine Wijn Koöp specialises in high-quality wines.

This weekend will take place at the luxurious Mont d’Or Franschhoek.

Situated in the heart of historic Franschhoek, Mont d’Or is an easy stroll away from the town’s variety of entertainment: think restaurants, wine tasting, chocolateries, museums and monuments. Expect five-star accommodation with a variety of meals prepared by celebrated chef, Nic van Wyk.

Known for his bold flavours and sauces, Nic is based at Haute Cabrière Restaurant in Franschhoek. He started out in the kitchen of renowned Chef Franck Dangereux of La Colombe, his love of classic French cooking was a perfect fit under Franck’s command. ​ Nic then went on to open Terroir Restaurant in 2004, which won the Eat Out Best Restaurant two years later in 2006. Nic has also been involved with restaurants such at The Barnyard Brasserie, Diemersdal Eatery and he ran his own restaurant, Bistro 13, for three years. ​
